The Landscape of Autonauts is a term used to explain the details of a map generated by the game.

For testing purposes due to the fact that the game is in early alpha access, every map is the same. There are, however, some 3rd party applications which allow you to create your own map and it is possible to independently edit the save file to create your own maps as well. This is likely to change in a future update.

Tiles Edit

Base layer of the landscape. It determines if you can walk on that square or build on it.

Some tiles have special properties, like allowing you to harvest resources from them.

The ID is used in the top portion of save files to record what Tiles are where.

Tile Objects Edit

Tile Objects are certain objects that are placed over Tiles. All Tile Objects prevent buildings from being placed on their tile until they are removed (except grass because it starts growing back immediately).

Tile Objects allow you to harvest resources or some of them just get in the way.

States are used in the save file to remember what was happening to the object.
